2008—2009 · COPAS of OKC was comprised of 306 members representing 79 companies! · Added a Young Professionals Committee which is hugely successful among our younger members. · We held a Committee Chair Appreciation and Training Meeting in August to thank our hard working committees and to help them come up with ideas for speakers and topics for the upcoming year. · The COPAS OKC Golf Tournament was held September 12th at Fairfax with members making up 28 teams of four and winning many wonderful door prizes! · New look for our General Ledger newsletter. · COPAS OKC donated a 52” Sony LCD TV to the library of Wheeler Elementary for our charitable donation this year. · Education Day was held March 26th at UCO with 148 registered attendees.

2007—2008 · COPAS of OKC grew to finish the year with 267 members representing 50 companies. · COPAS OKC hosted the Spring 2008 National Meeting held downtown Oklahoma City at the Renaissance Convention Center. 304 members were registered. · Society meetings were moved to Skirvin Hotel. · The COPAS OKC Golf Tournament was again popular with members participating in 26 teams of 4. · Participation in Education Day in February 2008 grew to 111 registered members.

2006—2007 · COPAS of OKC finished the year with 228 members. · The COPAS OKC Golf Tournament was held at Jimmie Austin Golf Course in Norman and was well-attended with 18 teams of 4. · 105 members registered for Education Day held in March 2007.

2005—2006 · COPAS of OKC finished the year with 258 members representing 65 companies. · Aaron McDonald from Chaparral Energy LLC becomes Oklahoma City Society’s 5th Accredited Petroleum Accountant (APA).

2004—2005 · OKC Society establishes Midstream/Downstream Committee; holds symposium. · Final membership of 220 breaks new record. · Barb Koch elected to national board of directors. · Society meetings moved to Crowne Plaza. · OKC Society re-established Financial Reporting Committee to include focus on Sarbanes-Oxley. · Decision is made to host Spring 2008 National Meeting in downtown OKC. · Society meetings averaged 100 attendees. · Roger Gann elected as vice- chair of Emerging Issues Sub-Committee at national level. · Cindy Heymans elected to Nominating Committee at national level. · Minchun (Alice) Wilson becomes Oklahoma City Society's 4th Accredited Petroleum Accountant (APA). · OKC and Tulsa Societies jointly host Oklahoma Severance Tax Seminar.

2003—2004 · The location for society and committee meetings was moved to the Waterford Marriott, and meeting dates were changed to mid-month to encourage attendance. · Additional efforts were focused on the membership drive in July 2003 to include professional brochures. · OKC Society Board Member Jodie Ford, was elected to the national nominating committee at the Fall 2003 National Meeting in Tulsa. · Society President Barbara Koch, received the COPAS National 2003 Eagle Award, presented at the Fall 2003 National Meeting in Tulsa. · The Holiday meeting was changed to a luncheon, and was attended by 128 members and guests, including Howard Blunk, National Board Liaison to the OKC Society. · COPAS of Oklahoma City volunteered to host the Spring 2008 National Meeting. · Membership increased to 204, an 18% increase over prior year, and the largest annual membership since 1995. · The OKC and Tulsa Societies joined together to co-host the Texas Tax Seminar in March 2004. · The seminar was conducted by representatives from the Texas State Comptroller’s Office, and was the first time since 1999 this training has been offered. 150 individuals attended the event. · The Annual Employer Appreciation Luncheon was held on March 23, 2004, with 169 members and guests in attendance, including John Clark, COPAS National President. Guest speaker for the event was Aubrey McClendon, CEO, Chesapeake Energy.

2002—2003 · Introduced a “new” General Ledger format for communicating with members. · Hosted an APA review and APA exams. · Education Day held at Kerr-McGee facilities. · Letter sent to employers as a marketing tool to increase membership.

2001—2002 · Oklahoma City Society was scheduled host the Fall National COPAS meeting in Las Vegas. · "The General Ledger" was distributed via email. · COPAS-OKC premiered new website: www.copasokc.org · COPAS-OKC Society logo was designed and implemented. · A society field trip to the Oklahoma Corporation Commission for a tour and mock hearing received rave reviews. · OKC Society attempted a mix of meeting formats; dinners, luncheons and afternoon. Average meeting attendance was 100 members, a 43% increase over the previous year's average attendance. · A member survey indicated that most members prefer the mixed meeting format in a downtown location. · Society meetings were moved to the Petroleum Club. · OKC hosted the Fall 2002 National Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada.

2000-2001 · January was designated as "Leadership Recognition Month." Toolboxes were prepared for and given to chairs of local standing committees, who participated in a group discussion at the · January Board meeting. Outgoing committee chairs were presented with honorariums at January's Society meeting. · A trial luncheon meeting in February drew 86 members. · Eleven non-member and eleven member employers were recognized at Employer Appreciation Night in April. Employer Appreciation Luncheon drew 138 members and guests. · The Oklahoma City planned one Education Day for the year, which was attended by 107.

1999-2000 · COPAS-OKC hosted National Joint Interest/Audit committee meetings at the Westin Hotel. · Membership voted to approve changes to COPAS-OKC Bylaws. · Society meetings moved to Westin Hotel in downtown Oklahoma City after Applewood's closes.

1998-1999 · Small Company committee reached its goal of doubling participation in the month of February · Two Education Days are hosted at Mercy Health Conference Center in May and December. · Success of is evident by ever-increasing attendance (105 in December). · Several members of the Tulsa society attended our ninth annual golf tournament. · COPAS-OKC holds Past Presidents' Night in September. Of our 39 Past Presidents, 8 are deceased and 9 could not be located. Twenty-one of the remaining 22 Past Presidents attend the · event. · Society Historian duties added to Secretary's responsibilities.

1997-1998 · COPAS-OKC Blazers night draws members to a hockey game. · Oklahoma City Society volunteered to host the Fall 2002 National Meeting in Las Vegas. · Oklahoma City's Sandy Launchbaugh was elected President of National Council. · 35 people attended the Education Day planned by the re-activated Education committee. · Accredited Petroleum Accountant (APA) program was kicked off for the Oklahoma City · Society.

1996-1997 · A survey indicated that most members prefer existing meeting format (Tuesday dinners with committee meetings preceding technical session). · An abbreviated version of the "General Ledger" was prepared for two months as Charlie Nobles recuperates from a heart attack.

1994-1995 · Oklahoma City's L. E. "Eddie" Cox elected as President of National Council. · "General Ledger" became a monthly publication. · An Employment Clearinghouse service was offered to members. · Revised By-laws were adopted.

1993-1994 · Gary Wade and Sandy Launchbaugh were recognized for their work on FERC Order 636 and SB168 seminars. · Charlie Nobles published the first "General Ledger" (on a quarterly basis) in October 1994.

1992-1993 · Door prizes were implemented to encourage attendance. · Monthly meetings were moved from Hilton Inn Northwest to Applewoods. · The first newsletter, "The Bottom Line" was published in January 1993 in order to increase communication between members, committees and the Board. · Board liaisons were assigned to each committee.

1987-1988 · COPAS Tax Committee began development.
1981-1982 · Oklahoma City's Tom Deplois was elected President of National Council. · Society acted as a clearinghouse for job seekers after the economic downturn of the early 80's.
1975-1976 · Oklahoma City Society hosted National COPAS meeting in the Fall of 1976.
1972-1973 · Oklahoma City's Don Gunning was elected President of National Council.
1970 · Oklahoma City Society hosted National COPAS meeting in the Fall of 1970.
1965 · Oklahoma City Society hosted its first National COPAS meeting in the Fall of 1965.
1961 · Petroleum Accountants Society of Oklahoma City (PASO) joined the Council of Petroleum Accountants Societies (COPAS).
1960 · Petroleum Accountants Society of Oklahoma City (PASO) was spun off from Tulsa society.
