COPAS OKC President’s Message

Greetings!

Welcome back to another year of COPAS!  We ended last year on a high note.  COPAS OKC experienced high membership levels, in spite of the downturn, and hosted a series of really excellent speakers.    It is my hope that we can continue this tradition of strong involvement and educational quality in the society during the upcoming year.  Please make note of our upcoming events on your calendar.  First, the Fall National Meeting will be held in Salt Lake City the week of September 20^th.  Second, our COPAS OKC Annual Golf Classic will be held October 1^st, shot-gun start at 8:30 a.m., at Coffee Creek golf club.  I have already registered for both, and while I am looking forward to visiting Salt Lake, I doubt my golf team will benefit much from my involvement in the tournament!  However, being a member of COPAS is as much about networking and developing professional relationships as it is about remaining informed about our industry and current in our profession.  So please encourage your colleagues to join us as we begin another year of networking, education, and professional development.

To start things off, we’ll learn all about OGE’s Smart Grid initiative in our September technical session.  I hope to see everyone there!
